[19:22:32] Ina Centaur: it is a good chapter though, since, perhaps, the thought of losing bella forces edward to emo-dump on her ;-) -- he tells her way more than usual
[19:24:09] Ji Ni: He really does freak out.
[19:24:33] Ina Centaur: first, he had to contain his rage - to not kill anyone..
[19:24:56] Ji Ni: I think its the first time in the book he shows his darker side, the side that can loose control.
[19:24:58] Ina Centaur: and when he does get bella all alone... he dumps on her his psychic ability
[19:25:01] Ina Centaur: bella suspected it though
[19:25:44] Ina Centaur: well, you just hear him crowling and cracking his knuckles... very similar to what happened in biology that first day

[19:26:35] Ji Ni: i remember how through all the books the rest of the family has a healthy respect for Ed's temper

[19:34:39] Ji Ni: well her cabin that esmee gave her, she loves it, and see's right away a future in it with edward, that shows a certain lightness of being despit al that is going on

[19:35:22] Ina Centaur: well, notice how rose and emmett required a big place
[19:35:29] Ji Ni: most people would be like, its gonna do what to me? ok abort it
[19:35:32] Ina Centaur: and bella likes the cozy small cabin.. and just little things like that
[19:35:44] Ji Ni: true, i dont think she's greedy
[19:35:56] Ina Centaur: lol.. she has an abundance of love. she was in love with her unborn child
[19:35:59] Ji Ni: and alot of what she values are relationships and friends

[19:41:10] Ji Ni: so he followed her just to protect her? i wonder why he thought she would be in danger, could that be alice's suggestion maybe?
[19:41:16] Ina Centaur: i dunno, if you're a girl wandering the streets in a city by yourself near dark - that's kinda the fear
[19:42:02] Ina Centaur: i guess that invokes memory again.. but it's cool to see bella attempting to fight instead of to just helplessly crumple
[19:42:11] Ina Centaur: and good thing ed comes in in time lol
[19:42:23] Ji Ni: ya she was awsome at sticking up for herself
[19:42:38] Ji Ni: she'll be a scary vampire queen
[19:43:46] Ji Ni: do you think bella is a good role model for women?

[19:44:47] Ina Centaur: on the one hand, it's as bella thought to herself when she was trying to muster up the fight
[19:45:02] Ina Centaur: but on the other hand, at least she tried doing something - and wasn't totally dependent on ed
[19:45:13] Ina Centaur: though, realistically, yeah, ed had to be there..
[19:45:27] Ina Centaur: in that case, she's perhaps not a good role model... most girls don't get ed in rl
[19:45:52] Ina Centaur: yeah it's so interesting that for bella, all of her RL probs seem to be eliminated by vamp.. including her bad sense of balance
[19:46:01] Ji Ni: thats true, and against four guys very few women would win out, but i think the mental attitude is important
[19:46:17] Ji Ni: like not giving in, knowing that they had to take it from you.
[19:46:43] Ji Ni: can keep your self respect at least
[19:47:14] Ji Ni: thats what they dold me in rape school hehe, ive never been though so i wouldnt know

[19:49:02] Ina Centaur: i've often found myself with that paranoia of danger in situations like that - but never yet been followed in a dangerous scenario by derelicts
[19:49:29] Ina Centaur: so i guess the chapter's interesting. it's like living through a fear.. but in a fantasy setting in a reality where i've a vampire guardian angel..
[19:49:49] Ina Centaur: but lol what would you do if you were stuck in that scenario? - lost in the middle of a strange city, cornered by drunk guys
[19:50:55] Ji Ni: well ive had that happen hehe
[19:51:09] Ji Ni: ive had a few close calls i think, but nothing happened

[19:51:35] Ji Ni: i only had to fight once, and one other time sorta a struggle thing but he gave up right away
[19:51:39] Ina Centaur: yeah.. i think in RL, most people are kinda like sheeple... and experiencing danger like that is perhaps as difficult as winning the lottery ?

[19:59:14] Ji Ni: so he had his hands down, on my skirt fringe and i punched him below the ear

[19:59:32] Ji Ni: which is a weak spot, no matter how big a guy is
[19:59:39] Ina Centaur: sounds like a drunk jerk
[19:59:55] Ji Ni: that knocked him back a bit and i punched him again in the tip of the jaw which i think almost knocked him out
[19:59:55] Ina Centaur: hmm so at a party.. did you have to deal with him afterwards?

[20:00:51] Ji Ni: i think more than a few friends, guys and girls said if they saw him around me again they'd really mess him up

[20:01:36] Ji Ni: it was good it was at a party too, quite a few people saw the whole thing

[20:02:48] Ji Ni: i also found (which isnt entirely fair) that when a girl goes nuts on a guy liek that most people assume the guy was up to no good
